            National Car Rental was founded on August 27, 1947 by twenty-four independent rental car agents, and has grown from sixty locations in United States in 1947 and in 2005 National Car Rental grown to over 2000 locations on the worldwide. National Car Rental acquired the operations of Tilden Rent a Car and the Canadian Fleet in 1996. And the meaning of National Car Rental is a rental car company based in Clayton, Missouri.

            Enterprise Holding is the owner of National Car Rental. Enterprise Rent a Car, and Alamo Rent a Car. Every car rent always grows more and more, including National Car Rental. On August 1, 2007 Cerberus Capital Management, LP sells automotive Vanguard Automotive Group that eventually purchased by Enterprise Rent a Car. Enterprise Rent a Car up to now, and stills hold full control over the Vanguard Automotive Group.
